Our Story
In 1979, friends Gunnar Ginters and Andy Anderson founded Galloway Yacht Club. What began in a restaurant quickly grew into a close-knit boating community. Over the years we've met everywhere from front lawns to yacht clubs — but our spirit never changed: fun, friendship, and boating adventures.
Today our home for meetings is the Middle River Yacht Club clubhouse, keeping the tradition alive and strong. Although Galloway is small, our members have a lot of fun — thanks to the inspiration of Gunnar and Andy.

Kick off the season as the fleet visits sister clubs around the Bay. As many boats at each opening as possible — slips coordinated for you.
Our season-long cruise schedule of destination trips and raft-ups across the Chesapeake, led by Fleet Captain Jeffrey Smeltz.
The club's signature formal evening — dinner, dancing, and the Change of Watch. Every member is invited to celebrate the season.
